Yonex Astrox 88D Pro Badminton Racket (Camel Gold) with a stiff, 10mm longer shaft and head-heavy balance, has been designed for the Dominant, back-court player. This longer shaft attribute results in a racket that gives lots of attacking power and is great for those who want to deliver a powerful smash. The Astrox 88D Pro features Yonex’s new Energy Boost Cap, which provides a boost in energy transfer from the player to the racket by way of flexing the shaft in a single direction, reducing torsion of the shaft and energy loss. Combined with the new and innovative Namd graphite technology which produces extra flex and snap-back, this racket gives additional power without the loss of control. The point of flex on the Yonex Astrox 88D Pro is at the mid-point of the frame, allowing only the upper half to flex and the player to accumulate energy and momentum enabling the stringbed to transmit power to the shuttle as efficiently as is possible. ‘NEW’ Built-in T-Joint is manufactured from a special lightweight plastic combined with epoxy resin and foaming agent that enhances quality and performance by increasing the stability of the shuttle on the string bed and through the air.
By applying the counterbalance theory, weight is distributed throughout the grip end, frame top and the joint for maximum control. The transition to the next shot can be performed smoothly with a rapid succession.
The built-in solid feel core cuts harmful miscellaneous vibration at impact. Solid feel core is carried in all racquets manufactured in Japan.
The new carbon material combination used in the primary composition creates a different ‘Flex point’ in each racquet.
From the initial movement of the player to the impact, the new dimension graphite is difficult to harden, and the shaft extends and accumulates energy due to the speed of the fast swing. Since the follow-through of the swing is smaller after direct impact with the shuttle, the swing speed drops and the new dimension graphite regains hardness and strengthens the resilience of the shaft, allowing the energy to explode rapidly before returning to its original state.

4U racket is between 84 and 86.9 grams. This racket claims to be 83 grams and also 4U. It also feels heavier than my old racket, however my old one is missing the strings. I haven't used it yet, but I can only assume the difference between rackets is the weight and weight distribution; I got this racket for the light 83 grams, but instead it feels heavier. There's nothing else I can say about a racket though, so I still give this one 4 stars, because I can guess it still performs as well as my old one.
